Overlapping Butterflies

I’ve used overlapping butterflies in a larger piece of work before, as symbols of how we can influence each other through the individuality of each persons unique soul.  As we connect in simple ways that have profound effects. we often bring light and hope, friendship and love. Ultimately lifting our wings higher than we thought we could go.

The butterfly on the left is the Krshna Peacock and the one on the right is the Purple Mountain Emperor

The substrate is art boards in 5x7 with Golden’t absorbent ground for watercolor that will be sealed with Golden soft gel medium after a Golden sprat varnish.

I don’t choose my butterflies by region, I choose based on color harmony and shape compatibility.
